Frameless living, redefined. In Padstow, this two storey coastal extension is designed around light, precision, and uninterrupted views. A striking glass to glass corner sits at the heart of the building, wrapping the edge in pure transparency and opening up the space to its surroundings. With no visible corner support, the glazing turns seamlessly through the structure, creating a crisp architectural detail that feels both minimal and expansive. Across both levels, the continuous glazing line enhances the connection between inside and out, allowing natural light to travel deeper into the home. Behind the simplicity is a highly considered approach to design. Structural glazing had to be carefully integrated with the slab and steelwork so that the glass could sit cleanly in front while still delivering thermal performance and durability, particularly in a coastal environment. Opening elements have been thoughtfully incorporated to maintain both function and form. A top hung vent above and an open out casement door below provide ventilation and access without interrupting the clarity of the corner. Finished in a soft grey matt and engineered for longevity, every detail has been refined to withstand the elements while supporting a contemporary aesthetic. A project that shows how structural glazing and engineering can come together to create a defining architectural feature.
