Chapel Point House, Cornwall is a rare example of contemporary architectural glazing integrated into a Grade II listed coastal property. Located near Mevagissey within the Cornwall National Landscape, this exceptional Arts and Crafts home has been sensitively renovated to improve both functionality and connection to its dramatic coastal setting. Designed by CAD Architects, the project replaces a poorly constructed extension with a new glazed addition that enhances daylight, views and daily living while respecting the original architecture. IQ Glass was appointed to design, supply and install the bespoke glazing package, working closely with the wider project team and main contractor, Cathedral Builders. The completed works include slim, thermally broken steel doors with adhered glazing bars, finished in a marine‑grade specification to withstand the exposed coastal conditions, alongside a structural glass roof that brings natural light deep into the extension. Installation imagery highlights the structural coordination required between steelwork and glazing to achieve clean sightlines with long‑term performance. This project demonstrates how specialist architectural glazing can meet the technical, environmental and heritage demands of listed buildings in challenging coastal locations.
