Transport for NSW introduced the Authorisation and Delegation Instrument in 2025, which allows Councils to use prescribed traffic control devices to regulate traffic under the relevant legislation. As part of the Instrument, Councils are required to establish a Local Transport Forum for advice and review from TfNSW, NSW Police, and State Member(s) of Parliament.  Previously known as the Local Traffic Committee, the Roads and Transport Directorate is conducting a survey to understand how the transition to Local Transport Forum has impacted the work of Council traffic, development, and design engineers.  Your experiences and feedback will assist the Roads and Transport Directorate in identifying if there are any areas that require further support or clarification. Feedback can range from transport, road safety, administrative work, design, and development, and will allow us to provide targeted support and resources accordingly.
