📣 New Publication - Recycled Pavement Materials Guide The Recycled Pavement Materials Guide supports NSW councils in making informed decisions about the use of recycled materials. It acts as a non-technical update to the IPWEA NSW Specification for Supply of Recycled Material for Pavements, Earthworks, and Drainage which was published in 2010. It provides practical guidance on emerging materials and concepts, addresses key concerns associated with their use, and includes case studies with a focus on long-term performance monitoring. The Guide is structured into five sections, covering an introduction to the whole-of-life approach and the circular economy, material overviews, general considerations, sustainable procurement, and individual material datasheets. These considerations address challenges such as specification selection, environmental impacts, construction, performance, and end-of-life. The datasheets offer material-specific guidance designed for practical on-site use for a range of materials including, recycled crushed glass, reclaimed asphalt pavement, recycled concrete and brick, crumb rubber, fly ash, ground granulated blast furnace slag, recycled plastic, and bottom ash. https://lnkd.in/gMGuUrKk Joshua Devitt, Muskan Soni #Recycle #Roads #LocalGovernment #RoadsandTransportDirectorate #Drainage #Environment #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #RecycledMaterials
