For 20 years, the Soro Tany peace gathering had not been held in Tsimafana, Madagascar. As droughts pushed migrants north, tensions grew over land and resources. IOM helped the community revive what it already had. When 150 people gathered beneath the sacred tamarind tree, migrants were invited to take part in ceremonies previously closed to them.
