Deal announcement We acquired this beautiful building many years ago when it was in desperate need of repair. Investre then designed and delivered a change-of-use scheme to create 9 apartments above, while retaining the commercial unit at ground floor level. As luck would have it, expected practical completion of the flats fell on the second day of the first Covid lockdown, and we became reluctant long-term investors. Since then, we have grown to love the building and the role it plays in the neighbourhood. We received a number of lucrative offers for the commercial unit from fast food operators, betting shops and other occupiers, but chose not to proceed. Instead, we held out for a tenant that would add something positive to the area. We are delighted to share that last week a lease was completed with a pharmacy group operating more than 70 pharmacies across the UK. In a world where property decisions are often driven purely by headline rent, we are proud that this unit will now be used in a way that supports the community, promotes health and enhances the local high street.
