🇨🇳🇨🇭This week marks a significant development for international connectivity: China Eastern Airlines has launched a direct flight between #Shanghai and #Geneva, making Western Switzerland the only region in the country with non-stop service to both Beijing and Shanghai. This historic route strengthens not just Geneva’s role, but that of the entire region, as a strategic hub for Switzerland–China travel, trade, and investment. ✈️ With 10 weekly flights to China this summer, we anticipate a boost in business travel, cross-border collaboration, and economic opportunities that will benefit companies, investors, and academic institutions across Western Switzerland. 👏 We extend our warm thanks to China Eastern for choosing Geneva and sincerely appreciate the dedication of Yves-Daniel Viredaz from Genève Aéroport, Lei Zhao from Geneva Tourism & Conventions Foundation, Shun ZHOU from GGBa, and Michael Kleiner from Geneva - Economy and Innovation, whose combined efforts made this vision a reality.
