#InvestNews: Bauerfeind AG kicked off the expansion of its core logistics center in Zeulenroda with a ceremonial groundbreaking in mid-November. The storied company is investing approximately 30 million euros in modern facilities, smart conveyor systems, and highly automated storage solutions in order to secure its ability to supply medical devices around the globe for decades to come. 💬 Rainer Berthan "Our investments here are a clear sign of confidence – not just in this location, but particularly in our employees." The expansion will take place in two construction phases: First, a new two-part facility will be erected behind the existing warehouse. Next, the old and new structures will be connected and the existing logistics operations reorganized. The centerpiece of the expansion is a new shuttle warehouse with space for over 45,000 containers that are handled by more than 100 automated vehicles. It will be complemented by a buffer warehouse with 1,200 square meters of floor space. Completion is scheduled for early summer 2029 – all during ongoing operations.
