Among the recipients of the 17th Entrepreneur of the Year in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern award were Alexander, Carina and Hubert Börger, founders of emano Kunststofftechnik GmbH in Teterow. From its early days as a specialised plastics processor, emano has grown into a highly innovative supplier for demanding industries such as automotive, electronics and medical technology. In the field of research-driven entrepreneurship, Prof. Dr. Nicole Endlich and her son received recognition for their startup NIPOKA, a spin-off from the Universität Greifswald. Their work underscores the strength of Greifswald as a scientific hub – particularly its renowned medical faculty – and shows how cutting-edge research can be translated into market-ready applications. Another powerful example of Mecklenburg Vorpommern´s industrial momentum is the growth story of August Hildebrandt GmbH, which continues to expand its presence at the fully developed Industrial Park Schwerin. With a significant investment in new production capacity for large-scale cable drums, the company contributes directly to the success of Germany’s energy transition – while anchoring valuable jobs and expertise in the region.
