The EU Council's agreement to expand CBAM to downstream products is a turning point , not just for importers of basic materials, but for anyone with steel, aluminium, or metal-intensive goods in their supply chain. Vehicle components, machinery, domestic appliances, construction equipment - the perimeter just got a lot wider. And with an annual review mechanism now built into the framework, this won't be the last expansion. The question isn't whether CBAM will affect your supply chain, it's whether you'll be ready when it does. For procurement and supply chain leaders, the window to act is narrowing. The European Parliament is expected to adopt its position in September, after which trialogue negotiations begin. Here's what companies should be doing now: https://lnkd.in/eJhJ2f27
