In 2025, nearly 3 million Afghans returned to their country. The vast majority were forced to return to Afghanistan, primarily from Iran and Pakistan. These individuals report being compelled to leave their homes with just a few hours' notice, carrying only a few personal belongings and leaving behind their lives and livelihoods. They are returning to a country that is now unfamiliar and unknown for them - after years away - and which is unable to accommodate them as it is facing a severe humanitarian and economic crisis. INTERSOS has published an advocacy paper highlighting this situation, outlining the Organization's response to the emergency, and calling on the international community to provide urgent and sustained support to ensure that Afghan returnees are not left to fend for themselves. 👉 Read the full document here: https://lnkd.in/d7VvJd4W
