'With schools being hit by bombings and others being transformed into reception centres, it is becoming impossible to guarantee any educational services. This constant opening and closing takes a heavy toll on the children.' These are the words of Riccardo Mioli, our Regional Director for the Middle East, and they describe the raw reality of a conflict that is destroying the future of thousands of children. In Lebanon today, people are fleeing both bombs and the very prospect of growing up. The impact documented by VITA reveals a profound educational crisis. Many schools are inaccessible due to bombings, while those that remain operational have become collective shelters. This makes teaching impossible and takes a toll on the psychological well-being of the youngest, who are often displaced for the third time in a single year. Alongside educational activities, the Intersos team is adapting its projects to provide psychosocial support and adequate hygiene services in the shelters. The aim is to preserve these spaces so that they can return to being schools at the end of the conflict. Without education, every future reconstruction effort will be compromised. Deep recognition goes to the field workers who, despite being displaced themselves, continue to provide assistance in dangerous conditions. In Libano oggi si fugge dalle bombe e dalla possibilità stessa di crescere. L’impatto documentato da VITA rivela una crisi educativa profonda. Molte scuole sono inaccessibili sotto i bombardamenti, mentre quelle agibili sono diventate rifugi collettivi. Questa trasformazione rende la didattica impossibile e grava sul benessere psicologico dei più piccoli, spesso sfollati per la terza volta in un solo anno. Oltre alle attività di educazione, il team di Intersos sta riadattando i suoi progetti per offrire supporto psicosociale e servizi igienici dignitosi nei rifugi. L'obiettivo è preservare questi spazi affinché, a fine conflitto, tornino a essere scuole. Senza istruzione, ogni sforzo di ricostruzione futura sarà compromesso. Un riconoscimento profondo va agli operatori sul campo che, pur essendo essi stessi sfollati, continuano a garantire assistenza in condizioni di pericolo.
