In December 2025, the FDA granted premarket approval to Flow Neuroscience's tDCS device -- the first home-use, prescription-only non-invasive brain stimulation therapy for major depressive disorder, now available in the U.S. A second approval followed for ProlivRx by Neurolief, the first at-home neuromodulation option for patients unresponsive to antidepressants. For professionals in the neuroregulation field, this marks a structural change. Home brain stimulation is no longer conceptual -- it is prescribed. The clinical frameworks, training standards, and safety infrastructure for this shift are being built now.
