For 100 years, the Centre William Rappard has been at the heart of international Geneva, reflecting major moments in global history and the everyday life of those who have worked within its walls. Built in 1926 as the first headquarters of the International Labour Organization, the Centre was the first purpose-built building designed for an international organization. It later welcomed the GATT Secretariat, the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency and the Library of the Geneva Graduate Institute, each leaving a distinct mark on its history. Today, as the home of the World Trade Organization, the Centre continues its long tradition as a place of dialogue and cooperation. ๐ธThe exhibition, โA Cornerstone of International Geneva: Centre William Rappard 1926โ2026,โ is open until September.
