𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲. In this Greenland retail case, one of the country’s largest corporations suddenly found itself without a Director for its Retail Goods Division. The role was critical: supplying daily goods, consumer products and fuel across a vast Arctic market where distance, climate and cultural understanding all matter. Together with Danish partner Nextt & Mason, IMW helped shape a mandate that went beyond filling a temporary leadership gap. The challenge was to stabilise daily operations while preparing a promising internal candidate to take over the role in the long term. Within one week, Nextt & Mason presented three highly qualified candidates. Five days later, an agreement was reached. Two weeks after that, the interim Director started. The result was not only immediate leadership continuity, but also a successful succession process. The interim Director safeguarded operations, mentored the internal successor and helped create the confidence needed for a smooth transition.
