A federal court just ruled that the Department of Labor violated the Constitution when it fined a family farm $500,000—mostly over a paperwork error and with the agency serving as prosecutor, judge, and jury. If the federal government is going to hit a family business with a $500,000 fine, at a minimum the business should get a hearing in a real court before a real judge and jury.
