Peach season is here – and starting today, Instacart customers can set their ripeness preference upfront so their shopper knows exactly what to reach for. (Not ripe. Almost ripe. Ripe. You know who you are.) Coming July 15, Preference Picker will also be live for mangos, tomatoes, plums, pluots, apricots, and pears. We launched Preference Picker for peaches and soon-to-be other summer produce categories because the data made it impossible to ignore. Based on 2023–2025 Instacart order data and an Instacart/Harris Poll survey of 2,000+ Americans, here's what summer produce season actually looks like: 🍑 Americans have strong peach opinions. According to our survey, 62% of Americans identify as Team Peach vs. 18% Team Nectarine and 35% say a perfectly ripe peach beats any other summer dessert. 💬 The data shows it too. The share of Instacart orders with hand-typed customer instructions swings 16 percentage points from January to late July. People care a lot about their produce during peak season! 🌽 The Fourth of July is a produce holiday. Cherries (+369%), Yellow Corn (+327%), and Watermelon (+170%) all peaked within days of each other over the long weekend. 📅 Then comes the week of August 12. Five stone fruit varieties – Donut Peaches, Pluots, White Nectarines, Plums, and White Peaches – all hit their 2025 highs within a 48-hour window. The single most dramatic week on the summer produce calendar. Explore the full Summer Produce Report below ⬇️ 🍑🌽🍉 https://lnkd.in/ghncZJGn
