From the promise of “eternal life” to empowering startups, INSEAD researchers, joined by physicists, material scientists, biologists and a diversity of academics took a deep dive into the practical applications of AI. On the second day of the AI Forum Europe, the speakers showed how AI is shifting the needle in life-saving applications, from computational drug design to optimising medical treatments, and its potential to better identify neurological disorders. Closer to human experiences, speakers discussed the effects of AI on well-being and human agency, as well as more sustainable ways to meet the increasing demand for computing power. In the spirit of INSEAD’s new Human and Machine Intelligence Institute, Dean of Research and Innovation Lily Fang encouraged participants to be entrepreneurial, adventurous and collaborative in our approach to AI. “We must take intelligent risks. And if we fail, we fall forward,” she said. As the first of the AI Forum series, this is just the beginning of the conversation. Stay tuned for more details of upcoming forums in America, Asia and the Middle East. #INSEAD #AI #AIForum
