Plant Biotechnology In line with country priorities, the Plant Biotechnology Strategic Business Unit carries out basic and applied R&D studies within the scope of current applications of methods in the field, preventing agricultural product losses, obtaining plants resistant to stress conditions, and defining our genetic resources at the level of gene and protein.Obtaining molecular markers in the development of plant genotypes resistant to biotic and abiotic stresses, determination of changing gene expressions under different stress conditions with transcriptomic and proteomic approaches, determination of new gene sources involved in the stress mechanism and their structural/functional characterization are carried out with new generation technologies.In addition, studies are carried out to transform gene transfer studies and plant tissue culture systems into added value for the country's economy. Determining our local plant gene resources that will enable the effective selection of high quality plant genotypes in order to shorten the time and increase the success of classical approaches in plant breeding programs,It cooperates with other public research institutions, universities and private sector at national and international level within the scope of conservation, evaluation and characterization. In addition, analysis and consultancy services are provided to public and private sector organizations in the fields of plant biotechnology and molecular genetics.
