From course to a business: Selam, coming to Turkey 8 years ago, is just one of the thousands of young women who had to leave before completing their education. Years after arriving, she and her mother signed up for a gastronomy course, without realizing this would mark the beginning of a new journey for them. After receiving training they established the ‘Kekik Women’s Cooperative’ which was first a restaurant and how now gone into food production. Selam, not letting anything get in her way, has created a new home for her cooperative where they produce together and contribute to the economy.
