The sites are key components of the Norwegian Longship initiative, which delivers a full value chain from COโ‚‚ capture to permanent storage. ๐Ÿญ ๐’๐ข๐ญ๐ž ๐ฏ๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ So far, the group has toured Hafslund Celsio and Heidelberg Materials, two cornerstone capture sites on the east coast. Later this week, visits continue to Northern Lights JV, Technology Centre Mongstad (TCM), and DNVโ€™s test center in Bergen, providing a complete look at transport, terminal operations, and storage. ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ด ๐€๐›๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐‹๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ Longship is Norwayโ€™s flagship CCS project, designed to create the worldโ€™s first fully integrated and scalable CCS value chain. The projects includes: โ€ข COโ‚‚ capture at Hafslund Celsioโ€™s wasteโ€‘toโ€‘energy plant and Heidelberg Materialsโ€™ cement factory โ€ข Transport of COโ‚‚ to the west coast โ€ข Terminal operations and permanent storage by Northern Lights beneath the Norwegian seabed Together, these facilities demonstrate how CCS can be deployed at industrial scale. ๐Ÿ“ธ ๐๐ก๐จ๐ญ๐จ๐ฌ 1: Construction site at Hafslund Celsio, scheduled for completion on 28 September 2029 2, 3: Heidelberg Materials, the first producer of carbonโ€‘captured cement ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐ฒ & ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ฌ The delegation kickstarted with policy briefings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with contributions from the Energidepartementet (Norge), Gassnova SF, Bellona, CCUS Innovation, and DNV. A roundtable at Innovasjon Norge's HQ brought together over 15 Norwegian companies to discuss opportunities and bottlenecks across the CCS value chain. A big thank you to the Ambassade de France en Norvรจge for hosting the delegation for a cocktail reception, and to Team Norway for coโ€‘organizing this visit. Janne T.
