🌍 Why is it so important to introduce students to entrepreneurial thinking early on? Because innovation doesn't happen in isolation—it thrives where scientific curiosity meets entrepreneurial drive. At the IZB - Innovation and Start-up Center Biotechnology one of our core missions is to foster international networks and expose young talents to the dynamic interface between science and business as early as possible. 👩🔬👨🔬 Welcoming Global Talent Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting two international student groups at the IZB: 🔹 Ten chemistry students from the prestigious Tsinghua University (Beijing) and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, accompanied by Prof. Herbert Mayr and Prof. Lei Jiao, as part of an academic tour through Munich and Regensburg. 🔹 Eleven outstanding scholars from the Amgen Scholars Program at LMU, who visited us during their summer research stay across the Life Science Campus in Großhadern-Martinsried. 💡 Firsthand Exposure to Start-up Innovation In addition to presentations about the IZB and the MAxL co-creation start-up incubator (operated by BioM Biotech Cluster Development GmbH), students had the opportunity to meet biotech entrepreneurs and hear about their journeys, challenges, and visions. A heartfelt thank-you to our inspiring contributors: Markus Lechner | Eisbach Bio GmbH Pascal Schweizer | Thermosome Karin Wisskirchen | SCG Cell Therapy Annika Byrne | CRELUX, a WuXi AppTec Company (IZB alumna) Your stories bring innovation to life—and spark inspiration in the next generation of scientists and entrepreneurs. #IZB #Biotech #Innovation #Entrepreneurship #CampusMartinsried #LifeSciences
