This month, Innovate UK Business Connect brought together the UK's battery community for the Cross-Sector Battery Showcase in Leicester. The event welcomed innovators, manufacturers, researchers, investors, policymakers and end-users from across the battery ecosystem to explore the opportunities, challenges and collaborations needed to accelerate battery innovation and deployment in the UK. Throughout the day, attendees heard insights from speakers spanning industry, government and research, discussing topics including the UK's battery ambitions, supply chain development, investment, commercialisation and real-world applications across sectors such as aerospace, defence, maritime and energy systems. The exhibition showcased the breadth of innovation taking place across the battery value chain, while networking sessions created valuable opportunities for new connections, knowledge exchange and future collaboration.
