INM leads prestigious EU doctoral network on sustainable energy technologies 🚀 Great news for European energy research: The INM research department Innovative Electron Microscopy, led by Prof. Nadezda Tarakina, will coordinate the new Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network e-ChemIn! 🏆 Selected in one of Europe’s most competitive funding schemes, with a success rate of less than 9%, e-ChemIn brings together 12 academic partners - one of which is the INM research department Energy Materials led by Prof. Volker Presser - and 6 industrial partners from 9 countries to advance the next generation of sustainable energy technologies. 💶 With a total budget of €4.5 million, the four-year network will focus on a key challenge in energy conversion and storage: understanding and engineering electrochemically active interfaces to improve the performance and sustainability of technologies such as batteries and fuel cells. As coordinator, INM will drive a highly interdisciplinary program that combines: 🔬 Cutting-edge research on sustainable energy materials 🧪 Advanced nanoscale characterization under real operating conditions ♻️ Innovative recycling strategies for critical raw materials 🤝 Close collaboration between academia and industry 🎓 A particular highlight of the project is the training of 15 doctoral candidates through an international and cross-sectoral program, preparing a new generation of scientists and innovators to tackle the energy challenges of the future. 🌍 We are proud that INM's expertise will help shape this ambitious European initiative and contribute to the development of technologies supporting a climate-neutral future. 🤝 We are also proud to collaborate with our outstanding partners. We look forward to starting this exciting journey with you!
