The future of urban mobility is taking shape in Germany. German mobility innovator UE Studios has unveiled SUE (Self-Driving Urban E-Shuttle) an autonomous, electric people mover designed to close critical gaps in public transport. Built on a road-legal 48V skateboard platform and developed entirely in Germany, SUE | SELF-DRIVING URBAN E-SHUTTLE combines: ✅ Autonomous operation. ✅ Sustainable interior materials. ✅ Modular vehicle architecture. ✅ Road approval for real-world testing. Developed in collaboration with partners such as DB Regio, ElringKlinger, TÜV NORD Mobilität GmbH & Co. KG, and Fraunhofer EMFT, the project reflects how industry, research, and public institutions can co-create scalable mobility solutions. As Alexander Uedelhoven notes, SUE was designed “from the ground up” with users, operators, and municipalities in mind. Already approved for autonomous trials, the shuttle is being tested on public roads including routes between Neustadt an der Donau and Bad Gögging. With low-voltage architecture, modular design, and public-sector backing, SUE | SELF-DRIVING URBAN E-SHUTTLE shows how smart engineering can accelerate accessible, sustainable transport. What role do you see autonomous shuttles playing in your city’s mobility ecosystem?
