A Legacy That Will Endure Today, my thoughts and prayers are especially with Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, whom I have had the privilege of meeting, and with the entire Al Thani family as they mourn the passing of His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Throughout the years, the Father Amir and Her Highness stood before the world as an extraordinary partnership—united by a shared vision for their country and an unwavering commitment to its people. Together, they helped shape one of the most remarkable national transformations of our time. His passing is not only a profound personal loss for his family, but also a moment of national mourning for the State of Qatar. During my years at Centuria Capital, where we had the privilege of managing €5 billion on behalf of Qatari institutions, I witnessed firsthand the confidence, ambition and long-term vision that defined Qatar’s rise. Under the leadership of His Highness, the country evolved into one of the world’s most prosperous economies, with one of the highest GDPs per capita globally, while establishing itself as a respected leader in energy, investment, diplomacy, education and international dialogue. The Qatar we know today—a nation that commands global respect and plays an outsized role on the international stage—is, in large measure, the result of his foresight and determination. His vision reshaped not only the country’s economy, but also its place in the world. To Her Highness Sheikha Moza, I hope you may find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on in every institution he helped build, in every opportunity he created for future generations, and in the remarkable nation that continues to flourish under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. May Allah (SWT) grant the Father Amir the highest place in Jannat Al-Firdaws, and may He grant strength, patience and peace to Her Highness, to the Royal Family, and to the people of Qatar during this time of profound sorrow. إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
