Informal is going back to its roots. Six years ago we started with a simple mission: foster trust in software and money. We pursued that across a wide surface area. Research, audits, infra, validators. We helped move ecosystems forward. Now we're choosing to narrow in on what matters most. Informal is simplifying around two mission-aligned bets. Quint for trust in software. Cycles for trust in money. Quint is our answer to trust in software. An executable specification language for reliable systems. With AI generating more code than ever, writing code isn't the hard part anymore. Knowing it's correct is. Quint restores that confidence. Quint is spinning out as its own company, with Gabriela Moreira stepping in as CEO. Cycles is our answer to trust in money. Modern finance is inefficient by design. Too many intermediaries, too much capital locked up. Cycles rethinks this from the ground up, clearing obligations across a network instead of settling each one individually. Ethan Buchman is focused on Cycles full time as CEO. This focus meant making some hard calls. We're winding down engineering services and validator operations, and parting ways with talented people who helped build Informal. We're beyond grateful for their contributions. Informal isn't going anywhere. It becomes the foundation that supports Quint and Cycles as they grow, a place for shared research, new ideas, and what comes next. The mission remains the same. Fostering trust in software and money, and we're more committed to it than ever. Read the whole story: https://bit.ly/3OLpEeh Check out our new website: https://informal.systems/
