Activity vs Output vs Impact Credit to Ani Filipova . Follow her for more. Original post below: ----- Being busy is not the same as being effective. And being effective is not the same as being remembered. Most professionals spend their week buried in ACTIVITY. Meetings. Emails. Dashboards. Calls that fill the calendar. Updates that feel urgent by default. It feels like the work. Often, it replaces the work. Then they deliver OUTPUT. The budget completed. The decisions signed off. The targets hit. The projects moved from red to amber to green. That is what gets you paid. But it is also what gets replaced next quarter. And then there is IMPACT!! Impact is the person you promoted who is running a division five years later. It is the system you built that still works after you have left. It is the decision-making standard the team still uses long after you left. Most of us spend 80% of our time on activity. 20% on output. Almost none on impact. Then we wonder why we feel exhausted and invisible in the same time. Activity fills the day. Output fills the quarter. Impact fills the career. The shift is not dramatic. It is choosing, once or twice a week, to develop the person who will do the next five quarterly plans without you, rather than you doing this one yourself again. So you can do something else, try different options, redesign your life. ----- Grow your professional skills with daily visual wisdom.
