For many children from poorer homes, opportunities that others take for granted can feel out of reach. For the past five years, Forgotten 40, INEOS’ charitable initiative, has been working to change that by giving primary school headteachers the funding to show pupils their futures can be bigger than their circumstances. Last week, INEOS welcomed a new cohort of 20 headteachers to the Forgotten 40 conference, sharing lessons from the programme so far. With each school receiving £20,000 to invest in their communities. From supporting pupil wellbeing to transforming school environments, their stories highlighted the real difference this approach can make. INEOS’ Director of Corporate Affairs, Tom Crotty, shared insights into the role businesses can play, while ambassadors from previous cohorts demonstrated what’s possible when schools are trusted to act in the best interests of their communities. A standout moment came from Nicky Perfect, whose experience as a hostage negotiator offered powerful lessons in leadership and communication. The next chapter of Forgotten 40 is underway. Thank you to the Forgotten 40 committee members for their continued support, and to Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team for hosting. Read more about it: https://shorturl.at/Nwkof
