Koalas are quietly returning to Wadbilliga National Park, bringing hope for Country and native wildlife. Indigenous-led conservation, guided by the Southern‑Yuin Firesticks team, is helping protect and restore habitats through cultural knowledge and on‑Country care. After the 2019–20 bushfires, these sightings show that koalas are still here and that cool burns support their survival and recovery.
