Indiana University School of Dentistry is building trust and healthy habits for children with the annual Give Kids A Smile (GKAS) free dental walk-in clinic. 🪥 Hosted by IUSD community volunteers, 153 IUSD student, faculty, and staff gave kids the opportunity to playfully and meaningfully engage with dental treatments. Beginning with the "fun zone," children could color, have their faces painted, and play games before slowly transitioning into dental screenings, radiographs, cleanings, sealants, and fluoride varnish applications as needed. “It was amazing to see students, residents, staff, and faculty all working together with the shared goal of promoting oral health for children. Moments like this remind me how powerful teamwork can be," said pediatric dentist and event champion Dr. Aline Castilho.
