After securing Rank 52 in the UKPSC PCS examination, Jasmeet Kaur Pahwa from Rudrapur in Uttarakhand joined as the District Social Welfare Officer in Bageshwar. Every day was filled with field visits, government work, and public service. Yet, every evening, her second shift began. She studied for 4 to 6 hours after office. On many days, that became 8 to 10 hours. Her goal was clear. Not just to become an officer, but to become a Deputy Collector. The journey was personal too. Her father had once dreamed of joining the Civil Services but could not. Years later, his daughter made that dream her own. An IRS officer's visit to her school first inspired her to dream of the Civil Services, and she never let that dream fade. Even during this demanding journey, she made time for badminton, helping her stay mentally refreshed and focused throughout her preparation. A bright student from the beginning, Jasmeet later graduated from Delhi University, completed her Master's in Psychology, and continued her Civil Services preparation at Jamia Millia Islamia. Years later, in 2024, she fulfilled that dream by securing Rank 1 in the UKPSC PCS examination. Jasmeet says, "Prepare with patience, sincerity, and consistency. Honest efforts never go unrewarded." She trusted a fair examination system, improved her answer writing, used Uttarakhand specific examples, and even combined books, YouTube lectures, and ChatGPT to prepare better notes when English study material was limited. Today, she is preparing to take charge as Deputy Collector, leaving behind her current post to serve people at a higher administrative level. Her dream is to work in Uttarakhand's remote hill regions and ensure government schemes reach every deserving citizen. Sometimes, the biggest victory is not clearing the exam. It is having the courage to keep chasing a bigger dream. Writes Ayodhya Prasad Singh #UKPSC #SuccessStory #Inspiring #Motivational #IndianMasterminds
