IIT Bombay will celebrate World Intellectual Property (IP) Day 2026 on 30th April. In an event dedicated to highlighting the importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and their role in fostering creativity and innovation, key speakers like Mr. Pinkesh Jain, Joint Controller of Patents & Designs, Patent Office, Mumbai; Ms. Joyita Roy Sarkar and Ms. Pallavi Agarwal, IIT Bombay; Mr. Pankaj Kumar Bhagat, Jurisdiction Head-IP and Client Relations, XLScout will highlight the importance of IPR within academic institutions, enabling participants to interact with experts, deepen their understanding, and seek clarifications on their questions. Jointly organised by Industrial Research & Consultancy Centre (IRCC) and Institution Innovation Council (IIC), the theme of this event "IP and Sports: Ready, Set, Innovate!" emphasizes the critical role of intellectual property rights—including patents, trademarks, and designs—in driving innovation, safety, and creativity within the global sports industry.
