A proud recognition for IIT Bhubaneswar's commitment to environmental sustainability. 🌿 Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar has been honoured with the Prakruti Mitra Award 2025–26 by the Khordha Forest Division during the Van Mahotsava 2026 celebrations, in recognition of the Institute's sustained efforts towards environmental conservation, afforestation and sustainable campus development. The award was received by Shri Bamadev Acharya, Registrar, IIT Bhubaneswar, from Shri Prasanta Kumar Jagadev, Hon'ble MLA, in the presence of Shri Manoj Mahapatra, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Khordha. Spread across 936 acres at the foothills of the historic Barunei Hill, IIT Bhubaneswar has nurtured a vibrant green ecosystem with over 50,000 trees, reflecting its unwavering commitment to ecological stewardship and sustainable development.
