Our policy advisor George Walkley has filed his April update on policy-related issues of relevance to independent publishers. Subjects this month include the economic shocks of war in the Middle East and the side-effect of moving the UK closer to EU trading partners. As George points out, the war has rather overtaken public policy developments, but he takes a look at some important media appointments, the consultation on social media use and AI class actions in the US. He also flags a couple of events on AI and books from the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre that might be of interest.
