π΄ A new government, a new policy agenda, and a drink to celebrate it! βͺ Dear InDe members and friends, Denmark has a new government. We hope it will be more open to including internationals in the policymaking processes that affect us. In other words, we hope it will do things "the Danish way", also with us. We haven't come to this moment unprepared. Over the past week, we asked our members to vote to approve or reject the proposed Policy Agenda, the document that defines what we advocate for and serves as our manifesto. Dozens of people have worked on it for 2 years. The Policy Agenda was approved, and we are therefore happy to announce that InDe now has an official Policy Agenda! ποΈ As a result, InDe now officially advocates for ποΈ 1) The enhancement and systematic development of Denmarkβs national long-term strategy concerning the integration and inclusion of international residents. 2) The establishment of an independent body mandated to monitor policies affecting international residents, assess their living conditions in Denmark, and map relevant initiatives, stakeholders, and associations working in this field. 3) The participation of representatives of international residents in policy-making and implementation processes that directly affect this group. 4) The promotion and enforcement of equal and fair treatment of international residents within the Danish labour market. 5) The development of a targeted strategy aimed at facilitating labour market access and employment opportunities for accompanying international spouses. 6) The removal of administrative and procedural barriers, such as high costs, related to the extension and renewal of residence permits. 7) The provision of more linguistically accessible public services. 8) The advancement of a comprehensive long-term strategy to address housing-related challenges both affecting internationals and arising from the impact of internationals on the housing market. We also believe this is a great opportunity to celebrate this milestone and say goodbye before the summer break. Therefore, on Saturday, 20 June, at 18:00, we will host an informal gathering at Zoku. All members and their friends are warmly invited. It will be a great opportunity to spend some time together and celebrate what we have achieved. The event is free of charge, but please RSVP here π https://lnkd.in/ewX9pP5E Thank you for being part of InDe, for supporting us, and for helping make Denmark a better place for internationals and Danes alike.
