Last week, our team had the privilege of joining a luncheon hosted by LGT Wealth Management Australia with former Prime Minister The Hon. Julia Gillard AC. Mark Wellings, Daniel Dalla, Erin Luis and Stella Wongso came away with plenty to think about. The conversation ranged across leadership, global shifts, and what they mean for Australia's long-term investment outlook, all of which provided meaningful insights. But it was the personal story that we found most inspiring. From a working-class background through student activism and into the highest office in the country, Gillard's journey was driven by a belief in fairness, in education, and in the importance of speaking up. She also made a point about surrounding yourself with people you genuinely enjoy working with, which sounds obvious, but it's the kind of thing that's easy to undervalue until you've experienced the difference it makes. It was validating to hear, as that idea has certainly been a key part of our company culture. Thanks to LGT Wealth Management Australia for bringing together such a thoughtful group for a conversation that went well beyond the boardroom.
