A recurring theme stood out: ๐ฅ๐ง๐๐๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ฉ๐ฎ ๐๐จ ๐ฃ๐ค๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐จ๐๐ข๐ ๐๐จ ๐ก๐๐๐ง๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ฉ๐ฎ (as highlighted by Hans Korving). Models can work extremely well without necessarily helping us understand complex systems. Alden Keefe Sampsonโs keynote captured this shift clearly: ๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐ฟ๐ผ๐น๐ฒ ๐ถ๐ ๐บ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด from building models to exercising judgement โ as ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐น๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ and ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐, connecting science, context, and decision making.ย This strongly resonates with our work at KWR Water Research Institute: from Hydroinformatics research on Data Science & AI and Integrated Infrastructure Modelling, to building a shared digital knowledge infrastructure together with drinking water utilities. Iโve written up some reflections from EGU26 in a new blog ๐ ๐ https://lnkd.in/d5GzP7TB Curious to hear from others: ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐ต๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ ๐บ๐ฒ๐๐๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ ๐๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ฒ? with Andrea Cominola, Sitzenfrei Robert, Stefano Alvisi, Riccardo Taormina, Joost van Summeren #EGU26 #AI #Hydroinformatics #DigitalWater #Modelling #Uncertainty #Collaboration #KWRHydroinformatics
