Strong engagement in the international #photonics community and a special #recognition at CLEO 2026. At this year’s CLEO Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, our institute was represented by Prof. Dr. Niels Quack. Beyond participating in one of the world’s leading conferences in laser science and photonics, he contributed as committee member for “Science & Innovation – Micro- and Nano-Photonic Devices” and served as Session Chair for “On-Chip Optomechanics” and “Thin-Film Lithium Niobate Devices”. A special highlight was the recognition as CLEO #Fellow 2026 – one of the highest distinctions acknowledging sustained scientific excellence and impactful contributions to research and innovation. Congratulations to Prof. Dr. Niels Quack on this well-deserved recognition. CLEO 2026 brought together around 2,500 participants from 40 countries and 90 exhibitors, highlighting the global momentum in photonics and laser science.
