🎉 100 years young! 🎉 This year, our West Thurrock site in the UK celebrates an incredible milestone: 100 years of manufacturing excellence. 🌎 Today, the site is one of the largest sintered calcium aluminate plants in Europe (alongside Fos-sur-Mer, Dunkerque & Le Teil in France), and supports vital industries like building chemistry, infrastructure, refractories, metallurgy, and mining in over 20 countries! 💡 Fun fact about West Thurrock: In the 1930s, 18,000 tons of the plant's hallmark Ciment Fondu® binder were used to construct the Halifax Harbour Pier in Nova Scotia. The infrastructure is still in use today, surviving nearly a century of intense marine exposure and roughly 1,000 freeze-thaw cycles per year. A true testament to the enduring quality of our chemistry!
