XTCO is pushing memory innovation beyond conventional scaling to meet the demands of the AI era.   At the 2026 Symposium on VLSI Technology and Circuits, imec researchers shared how the XTCO memory program is addressing key challenges for next-generation AI systems, spanning memory technologies, architectures, and integration strategies. Through a short course and dedicated workshops, our experts highlighted approaches to overcome scaling bottlenecks and enable future compute systems with higher performance and improved energy efficiency.   As AI workloads continue to evolve, innovation can no longer happen at the device level alone.
