Closing Europe's Innovation Gap Today’s world is shaped by an unpredictable geopolitical landscape. Despite growing global competition, Europe retains powerful assets: world-class research, strong industry, a large market, and exceptional talent. In these uncertain times, sustained and strategic investment in innovation remains our best guarantee for economic growth, security, and long-term prosperity. But what does this look like in practice? With the EU investing less in AI compared to other regions, Europe must be more ambitious and bold, leveraging its unique strengths, particularly in AI.
