What happens when security replaces openness as the organizing principle of the global economy?    This was the central theme of Simon Evenett’s presentation to a roomful of leaders at the recent Oslo Business Forum Executive Summer Summit.    Drawing on decades of research into the effects of geopolitics on global trade, Evenett challenged executives to recognize the fundamental shift in the geopolitical environment and to respond accordingly.    The Professor of Geopolitics and Strategy shared a practical framework for navigating global upheaval:  🔵 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲 scenarios without trying to predict them,   🔵 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 geopolitical muscle across the enterprise,   🔵 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲 on customer shifts and the partnership opportunities that accompany disruption,   🔵 Actively counter the 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗹 and complacency that can so easily hold an organization back.    Evenett’s parting message: “The long peace is over.
