It's the small things. Tony photographed this wrought-iron dragon door pull at Vignamaggio — a winged, horned creature gripping a heavy ring, set against that gloriously faded render. Nearby, a hand-painted sundial keeps time on the villa's main wall. These details were made by hand, by people who cared, and they're a big part of why the building still feels alive after 500-plus years. Craft and ornament aren't extravagances — they're what turn a structure into a place people love.
