I am very pleased that the Austrian Society for Family and Regional History (#ÖFR) has published a feature about my open #Zenodo database of Jewish soldiers from the Napoleonic era. As an illustration, the ÖFR used a painting of the Battle of #Ebelsberg (May 3, 1809) by Dietrich Monten (see above). This gives me the opportunity to list the current entries from my second CERN database – the casualty list of Jewish soldiers – connected to this battle and the retreat that followed immediately afterwards: 39th Line Infantry Regiment "Duka" (#Hungary) *Marcus/Martin BERGER - Taken prisoner *Mendel MAYER - Taken prisoner *Juda/Jacob PINKESZ – Taken prisoner 49th Line Infantry Regiment "Kerpen" (#Mostviertel) Salomon SCHALOEN - Taken prisoner 1st Battalion of the Moravian-Silesian Volunteers Salomon PIVAT - Taken Prisoner 6th Battalion of the Bohemian Legion "Erzherzog Carl" Joseph LANGER - Missing in Action The links to the full #ÖFR post and to my database "Casualty List of Jewish Soldiers" can be found directly in the first comment. #NapoleonicWars #JewishHistory #MilitaryHistory #Genealogy
