From 50 chickens to a growing poultry enterprise creating jobs for young people in Ethiopia’s Somali Region. With support from the ILO PROSPECTS programme, Hussien Saleman and his wife transformed a modest side business into a thriving multi-branch poultry farm, now operating across multiple sites, employing young workers and strengthening local supply chains in Jigjiga. Through entrepreneurship training and a Business Plan Competition grant, Hussien gained the skills and resources to expand production, increase income and invest in the future of his community.
