PhD student at LKB, Sorbonne University

After two years, split between Rome at Sapienza University and Paris at Paris-Saclay, the journey of my Erasmus Mundus master’s, QUARMEN: Quantum Science and Technology, has come to an end. I recently defended my thesis, “Photonic sources for entanglement-based quantum networks”. It was carried out at Laboratoire Kastler Brossel in Sorbonne University, in Quantum Networks group, under the supervision of Julien Laurat and Alban Urvoy. My work explored cavity-enhanced SPDC photon pair sources for integration into quantum repeater schemes, focusing on optimizing the heralding efficiency. The ultimate goal of the project is to contribute to the development of the quantum internet. I’m now very happy to start a PhD in the same group with Julien Laurat, Eleni Diamanti, and Alban Urvoy, and I’m looking forward to continuing on the same project. I’m really thankful to everyone who was part of this, and shared their support along the way!
