From the shop floor to a global solution – meet Moonwalkers 👟🤖 For us, innovation often starts where it matters most: with our co‑workers. Moonwalkers are a great example of how ideas from the floor can turn into scalable solutions that benefit customers, people and the business. Moonwalkers are robotic shoes that fit over regular footwear and use adaptive AI to match a co‑worker’s natural walking style – enabling them to walk up to 2x faster. By making it easier to move around the unit, Moonwalkers can help co‑workers walk faster and pick orders more efficiently and stay focused on what matters most: taking care of customers. The Moonwalkers were first introduced in the IKEA Helsingborg store and quickly gained strong co‑worker engagement. The initiative was even nominated for the Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 – Best Innovation Award, recognising creative, non‑traditional approaches to business challenges.
