🇮🇳 Quantum Communication: Building the Foundations of India’s Secure Digital Future Quantum Communication is rapidly moving from research labs to real-world deployment. India’s commitment through the National Quantum Mission reflects a strategic push toward indigenous quantum capabilities and technological self-reliance. Quantum Communication extends beyond theory to practical advancements in: • Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) • Quantum Networks & Secure Communication Infrastructure • Quantum Repeaters & Long-distance Communication • Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) • Quantum-enabled Secure Systems India has recently demonstrated a 1,000 km secure quantum communication network using indigenous QKD technology — among the world’s longest deployments. Simultaneously, ISRO is progressing toward the country’s first QKD satellite. The 2,000 km inter-city and satellite-based targets are no longer distant ambitions; they are the work of this decade. What makes this moment significant is the breadth of technologies advancing together: → Inter-city, satellite and free-space QKD → Quantum repeaters, entanglement distribution & quantum memories → Indigenous photonics, single-photon sources & detectors → PQC as the parallel classical line of defence → Testbeds, standards, interoperability & deployment pathways For IITM CDOT Samgnya Technologies Foundation — the Quantum Communication T-Hub under the #NationalQuantumMission — this represents the work ahead for years to come. We are fostering an ecosystem connecting academia, startups, industry, government, skill development, and translational research to accelerate quantum innovation. Building a robust quantum ecosystem requires multidisciplinary collaboration, talent development, and industry participation. If you are from Communication Engineering, Optics, Electronics, Applied Physics, Photonics, Cybersecurity, or related domains and are interested in contributing to India’s emerging quantum ecosystem, we would be glad to hear from you. We welcome engagement from Project Interns, Project Trainees, PhD scholars, Research Scholars, Startups, and Industry Practitioners interested in projects, experimentation, and ecosystem building in Quantum Communication. Together, we can help build a secure, indigenous, and future-ready quantum communication ecosystem for India. #QuantumCommunication #NationalQuantumMission #QuantumTechnology #QKD #QuantumNetworks #PostQuantumCryptography #QuantumInternet #DeepTech #Photonics #CyberSecurity #Innovation #EmergingTechnology #DigitalIndia #AtmanirbharBharat #IITMadras #CDoT #QuantumEcosystem #Samgnya #IITMResearchPark
