Jai Bhim Saptaha—the annual week-long celebration at #IITDelhi marking the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar—was inaugurated on 10 April 2026 with great enthusiasm and purpose. The Saptaha began with a blood donation camp organized in collaboration with Blood Connect and NSS, inaugurated by Prof. Arvind Nema, Deputy Director (Operations). This was followed by a book exhibition at the Central Library, showcasing Ambedkar’s life, ideas, and enduring legacy. A key highlight of this year’s celebration is the Jai Bhim Saptaha Film Festival, curated by noted film critic Harish Wankhede. Emphasizing the cultural significance of cinema, Dr. Wankhede described film as a vital space for reflection and inclusivity. Rooted in Ambedkar’s emancipatory vision, the festival presented films that foreground the culture, lived experiences, struggles, and aspirations of marginalized communities—especially those shaped by caste, tribe, and gender.
